About Intermission
Intermission is for followers of Jesus who want to ‘give one year in service to God and to those God calls you to serve.’
Intermission is a half-time for those who have just ended school and are about to enter into the big wide world.
Intermission is a discipleship year for those at the quarter life stage (17-22) needing to prepare for the next quarter of their lives.
Intermission is more than a break. It is a time for re-evaluation of life direction, rethinking of worldviews, refueling for discipleship, and reordering of priorities in life for the world in which we live.
Intermission will be a community and team event. Up to 20 learners will think, study, pray and do life together for a year. Each person will also be mentored in community.
Intermission will take you to places where you may never have been before: prisons, refugee centres, Islamic mosques, rest homes, Buddist temples, poor neighbourhoods, bi-cultural communities, work environments, you name it.
Intermission will ask you to critically reflect on action, to think through what you’ve been exposed to, so as to reconsider how you will discipleship in the 21st century.
Intermission will give you an NZQA Certificate in Applied Theology from Carey Baptist College that will be an invaluable foundation for the future.
Your study will include:
